Important Information Regarding Marine Fares
Marine fares are available only to active crewmembers either working onboard a seagoing vessel or who are in the process of joining a vessel for employment purposes. In addition, marine fares are available to service engineers and/or contractors traveling to carry out work aboard a vessel.
At boarding, the airline will request any or all of the following documents to verify marine fare eligibility:
- A valid current seaman’s book
- An original and current letter of employment or contract from:
- a cruise line
- a cruise line concessionaire (salon, spa, casino, entertainment, etc.)
- an authorized crewing agency
- A letter of appointment issued by the ship owner or the vessel, authorizing an individual to board a vessel for the purpose of performing services on board (for service engineers and/or contractors).
Any person not being able to produce these documents upon demand by the airline may be denied boarding or will be required to purchase a replacement ticket at whatever applicable fare exists at that time.
In addition to the above proof of employment, crewmembers may require visas and/or other country specific documentation as well as valid passport to travel internationally. Europe USA does not accept responsibility for a crewmember not in possession of the documentation required to board any flight.
